Crown Paints Gold v LJFC Red

Posted on 01/04/2012 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report, Sunday 1st April 2012

Crown Paints Gold 2-3 Lammack Juniors Red

Despite the significance of the date Lammack’s early play was anything but amusing…no on the field leadership, talking, winning mentality or accurate passing.

Crown were 2 goals up before Lammack realised it wasn’t funny. Lammack’s early attacking lacked ball control, their midfield failed to win any tackles or pass to a blue & red shirt, in defence they were sloppy. The game turned on a bit of good fortune, Josh Kennedy found some space in right midfield and drilled a low shot goalwards, the CP goalkeeper was fooled by a slight deflection and was helpless as the net billowed. Lammack immediately looked as though they worked out the trick and began to play some neat stuff and it wasn’t long before the Josh Kennedy’s free kick again deceived the unfortunate CP keeper with another slight deflection, ½ time 2-2

Lammack reorganised their ranks to better effect and conjured several more opportunities with some slick play. In defence Nath jones was magic, Alfie Jones timed his interceptions brilliantly and ensured the Lammack goal stayed safe. Lammack played their joker when Mattie’s long clearance was controlled first time by Seth Elliott who’se quick slick through ball was perfect for Owen Elwood to run onto, he drilled his shot high into the roof of the net for Lammack’s third and ultimately the winning goal.

Lammack had to make a couple of late substitutions due to injuries, Seth (ankle) and Owen with an elbow (humerous bone), sorry! Enough!

Nath Jones won the Man of the Match award. Well played all the lads.

Cup Semi-Final

Posted on 25/03/2012 by Graham Chillingworth

Cup Semi-Final Sunday 25th March

Mill Hill Red 1-0 LJFC Red

The MHR management team were as usual fairly vocal in their pre-match build up, the constant shouting at their own players eventually backfired and provided Lammack with positive anger and desire to shut up the noise. Unfortunately MHR were 1 up by then courtesy of a flukey deflection off Nath Jones’ valiant attempt at blocking a speculative shot, despite Mattie getting a hand on it, the ball bobbled across the line. Lammack responded brilliantly and dominated the remainder of the game, having 2 efforts cleared off the line, hitting the bar and some great efforts either just over or wide our name clearly wasn’t written on the Cup this year. That’s if any could find it anyway.

This was a match we could and probably would have won if only for a slice of luck. It was the sort of game we would have won if we had scored first, MH are happy to go one up and then sit back and defend all day. Today we were unlucky but we can still take pride in being a good team with a brilliant set-up. Well played all the team.

Man of the Match; Nathan Jones for determination, tough tackling, great passing and total commitment.

LJFC V Great Harwood Rovers

Posted on 11/03/2012 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report Sunday 11th March 2012

Lammack Juniors Red 7-2 Great Harwood Rovers

Firstly, this is the correct score (The FA has it down as 8-2, now you know what the initials stand for)

Following last week’s cup tie win over MHR Chilly made it known that the lads who didn’t get much or any game time would start against GHR, the starting 7 proved what a good squad we have at Lammack. From the start GHR were on the back-foot, Lammack surged forward and bombarded the nervy GHR goalkeeper who seemed determined not to use his hands to make a save. Charlie Elwood opened the scoring with a hard low shot from 12 yards. Cam Ward made it 2-0 when the keeper came for an in swinging corner and palmed it backwards into the goalmouth, Cam was in the right place and made no mistake with the header. Half time, 2-0

Chilly used all his subs from the start of the second half, cue the Cam Austin show, he was red hot, pacy & packed full of power, when he’s in this form he must scare the living whatsit out of defenders. Cam had already bulldozed his way through the GHR defence once, when on his second run his neat finish got the goal he deserved. Lammack played some great stuff, they seemed able to score on every attack, more goals came from Charlie Chilly, another from Cam Ward and 2 more from Cam Austin who fully deserved his Man of the Match nomination. Whatever Cam’s pre-match preparation was… same again please Vicky & Gary.

Lammack were 7 nil up and coasting. The GHR manager encouraged, no, pleaded for his team to enjoy their football, they responded with a well taken finish and then was awarded a last gasp penalty (harsh) which was well converted. Final, 7 (seven, Mr FA)-2

Well played all the boys.

Cup Qtr Final Mill Hill White v LJFC Red

Posted on 04/03/2012 by Graham Chillingworth

Cup Match Report, Sunday 4th March 2012

Mill Hill White 0-2 Lammack Juniors Red

Lammack began the match without their skipper Usman Ditta, Alfie Jones deputised until Usman arrived 5 minutes into the game, for these and the next 5 minutes MH dominated the match and were looking dangerous. In the nets Mattie Holden held everything they threw at him. Gradually Lammack settled and the balance of play evened out. Lammack’s defensive duo of Usman and the really solid Nath Jones were in commanding form, in midfield width was provided by Chase-it Chill and Man of the Match Josh Kennedy whilst Seth Elliott provided defensive cover and creative passing. Chances for both sides were at a premium and it was no surprise when Chilly Snr rotated the lone strikers in the search for that flash of genius (or luck). Gut instinct foretold that whichever side scored first would go through.

It was a few minutes into the second half that Lammack were gifted a massive slice of luck. Inexplicably, and without being under any serious pressure the MH captain (Cal?) collected the ball near his own corner flag and laid the ball straight to Charlie Elwood unmarked on the MH penalty spot. Lammack’s current top goal scorer is back in form and took maximum advantage. To Cal’s credit, after a moment of madness he didn’t dwell on it and got on with his game and was at the centre of MH’s best and most dangerous moves. Lammack rearranged in defence when Nath Jones got injured, his replacement Lucas Whittaker who is growing in confidence with every game was quick, strong and skilful down the right. Lammack continued to press forward, occasionally Usman wandered into attack and left Charlie Chilly to provide defensive back up, it caused a couple of hairy moments but MH didn’t trouble Mattie again. It was still 1 nil when the ref declared “1 minute still to go.” Attack is the best form of defence says the cliché, Josh Kennedy was brought down on the corner of the MH box, MH formed a wall expecting Chilly to shoot, players jostled for space, the keeper bounced about on his toes poised, and waiting for the shot. Genius. Chilly, no run up, no back-lift just put his toe under the ball, flicked it up and over the wall for Cam Austin to pounce on. Now here’s where a beautiful moment almost became comical, Cam after a slight miss-control swung and had a fresh air shot, fortunately his second swinger made enough contact to beat the floundering MH keeper and secure a deserved 2-0 win with the last kick of the match.
Cue the celebrations; can we relive last year’s fantastic memories of winning the Trophy? You bet the lads are in good form and playing with as good a team spirit as we’ve seen this year. Let’s stick together, work hard and who knows, a good run in the remaining league matches and retaining the Cup would be perfect.

Josh Kennedy was awarded the Man of the Match

Congratulations also to Maj and Forza on the birth of their forth son last friday night. Mum and baby are doing fine but are obviously need back home to get the Maj and the boys organised and to the match on time!

LJFC v Langho

Posted on 26/02/2012 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report Sunday 26th February 2012

LJFC Red 3-1 Langho Juniors

Lammack came from a goal down to narrow the league table gap between these 2 West Blackburn teams. The game, as befitting a “derby” was well contested and an enjoyment for those in attendance. Langho’s main threat came from the hard-working George and from a dead-ball specialist Jason. It was end to end stuff, fortunately Lammack had a good number of key lads all in good form and were able to recover from a very rare mistake by Mattie in the nets. I don’t recall many, if any, howlers by Mattie, he’s won us more games than I care to remember and to his credit seemed to have a great attitude to getting on with helping the team to a vital win. Lammack equalised before the break when Seth controlled a long Langho clearance, advanced into midfield space and slipped a pass through to Owen Elwood on the right. Owen was through, no marker to beat, 10 yards out he drilled the ball into the bottom corner to complete a swift decisive move. ½ time, 1-1.
The second half began with a number of Lammack subs, this didn’t interrupt the team-work, Lammack knocked it around enjoying the possession, Langho were restricted to an occasional long-shot and one goal-mouth scramble. Lammack went 2-1 up through when Charlie Elwood beat the defender on the left wing and got to the bye-line and deftly chipped the ball over the keeper and in at the far post, great individual skill. Langho were beat when, a minute or two later a corner from the same wing was swung over by Charlie Chilly, and although it appeared that a Langho player had the last touch I’ll credit Chilly with it rather than have him wanting a word with me next week!
Usman Ditta was awarded the M-o-M, for the first time in months I’ll go back to the “old sign-off”… well played all the lads.

Mill Hill Red v LJFC Red

Posted on 22/01/2012 by Graham Chillingworth

Mill Hill Red 1-1 Lammack Juniors Red

Another typical day up on the fields of Everton; poor weather, a sticky pitch, hissy-fits on both sides and a linesman trying to ref the match! Glad to be back? You bet!

Chilly (rightly) had kept the lads in the dark about player availability until the pre-match warm-up, if some of the lads had known we were without our super-stopper Mattie, Cam W, and Alfie then their mind-set may well have been defeatist. As it was Nath Jones took the green jersey and played superbly, only conceding from a penalty kick off the post, hats off to Nat the Cat!

Lammack had the first clear chance when the ref adjudged a handball, Charlie Chilly screwed it wide. The game was pretty even, Lammack had the better possession but Mill Hill had more shots. The half ended 0-0

The second half flow seemed to be a stop start affair whilst the linesman regularly kept “advising” the ref, every time the play stopped MH restarted play. It was however the proper ref that evened up the penalty count when 6 or 7 minutes into the half the ball struck a Lammack arm from a yard. The MH captain showed coolness under pressure, low, hard and off the base of the post for a perfectly taken spot-kick.
Lammack might have been forced into a change after a few minutes of madness, however, a bit of fatherly advice calmed the situation until after the game. Lammack’s equalizer came 2 minutes before the whistle. Chilly’s tenacity won a left wing throw-in, Usman’s throw was back-headed by Chilly into space centre-goal and 4 or 5 yards out of the area, Seth Elliott advanced from a holding midfield position and hit the ball sweetly over the keeper and just under the cross-bar for a deserved equalizer. A great goal for the boy and the team. Lammack might have snatched a late winner but it wasn’t to be.

Josh Kennedy’s no nonsense tackle, move pass it game got him the M-O-M award, but it could easily have gone to Nath Jones who made several key stops with his hands and feet.

Rossendale Valley Wasps v LJFC Red

Posted on 27/11/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report Sunday 27th November 2011

Rossendale Valley Wasps 1-2 LJFC Red

Lammack claimed their first league victory against any Rossendale Valley side courtesy of a gritty, battling display and Lucas Whittaker’s first ever goal, and what a stunner it was! The celebrations with his mates and on the touchline were a joy and prove how popular this quiet little lad is with everyone at Lammack, every Lammack football fan had a smile a mile wide for the rest of the game and until shortly afterwards when the sad news about Gary Speed hit the headlines. Our thoughts and prayers to his family.
Lammack started quickly and for 10 minutes Wasp’s never left their nest. Lammack’s attacking power down both wings should have resulted in 3 or 4 goals, Wasps held firm or the keeper took the sting out of the threat. Chilly changed things around and a bit of the buzz was lost, nevertheless from a left-hand corner Josh Kennedy grew wings of his own and headed the ball down and into the left corner, technically brilliant.
In the second half Wasp’s came out angry and swarmed forwards, one or two moments of hesitation between Alfie and Usman caused momentary panic. Lammack just couldn’t turn threat into goals and seemed destined for the usual draw after Wasps struck and equalised. With minutes left Lammack had possession on the left, Chase-it Chilly lost then won back the ball, and his cross eluded the Wasp’s rear-guard and dropped on a plate for Lucas. 3 yards out, a very decent keeper in good form and in front of him, the game needing to be won, blustery cold conditions. Perfect. Right foot, first touch, top corner 2-1 start the celebrations. What a way to warm your heart.
Josh Kennedy deserved and got Man of the Match, but Lucas got the headlines!
It gives me great pleasure to list the goals chart without young Whittaker propping up the table (not my fault Dawn married a “W”)

Rossendale Valley Tigers v LJFC Red

Posted on 20/11/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report; Sunday 20th November 2011
Rossendale Valley Tigers 0-0 LJFC Red

For the second successive week these 2 sides produced a draw, perhaps it shouldn’t have surprised us. Rossy’s manager had a game plan; he re-organised his line up, Tony Currie’s lookalike and their best outfield player was deployed to shadow last week’s MOM Cam Austin, it worked but it also meant Rossy were unlikely to score unless it came from a set piece. Unfortunately it also meant Lammack were going to find goals hard to come by unless their forwards were all on song, they weren’t. In the closing minutes Rossy might have been hard done by when the ref didn’t give the goal after TC smashed one onto the underside of the bar and it bounced out, at least he was consistent!
Rossy began brightly but seemed to tire quickly, Lammack dominated possession and the attempts count but the Rossy keeper snuffed out the threat easily. At t’other end Mattie was virtually redundant except for a couple of Rossy corners. Lammack once or twice nearly caused themselves embarrassment, Mattie is normally decisive with his restarts but today seemed to delay his distribution, Rossy’s first line picked up on it and almost took advantage by quickly closing down the occasionally static Lammack defender and almost stealing possession, I’m sure Chilly and the coaching team will give clear early advice before the next match.

Young Charlie Chilly was awarded the MOM.

LJFC Red v Rossendale Valley Tigers

Match Report; LJFC Red 1 v 1 Rossendale Valley Tigers
Sunday 13th November 2011
How did we not win this game? A question asked too often about our team. In the first half the Tigers were passed off the park, they were given a real run around, physically we dominated them, if we could convert half the chances then they would have need “snookers” to get a result! Chilly, in looking for the answer played Cam Austin up front, and when Cam’s on his game and feels he has something to prove (PF away) is able to strike fear into the opposition. Cam has pace and power and terrorised the Tiger’s back pair on numerous occasions, this was probably Cam’s best performance for the team and by a mile worthy of the MOM award. Lammack had already sliced open the Tiger’s defence before catching them on the break to take a deserved 1 nil lead. Nath Jones’ belted clearance from left-back to right-wing seemed measured, Seth brought the ball under instant control and skilled the defender, quickly the ball was layed into Cam’s path, he then turned the last man inside out before drilling the ball under the keeper. A quality decisive move. Lammack could and should have gone on to rack up a big score, sometimes the shots were wide or weak, sometimes shots were taken when team-mates were in better positions, sometimes too many passes were made. Half-time 1-0
The second half began with optimism, we were expecting. Tigers were defending for their lives, in an attempt to clinch the game Chilly made changes and unfortunately the Tigers’ “young Tony Currie” along with 2 more attackers was through against Lucas and Mattie, the blond forward coolly found the bottom right corner for the leveller. Lammack could and should have been out of sight. How did we not win that?

Darwen Rangers V LJFC Red (Cup R2)

Posted on 06/11/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report; Sunday 6th November 2011
Darwen Rangers 0-11 LJFC Red
Lammack continued the retention of the trophy with ease and some style, unfortunately Rangers were on the receiving end of all of the Lammack boys being on-song. In the first half Owen Elwood was at the heart-beat of the team, he issued the DR defence an early Hallowe’en reminder for next year. Quality. Lammack finished the half 5 nil ahead courtesy of goals from; Josh, Cam W, on OG from a corner by Owen, Cam W again and Charlie E. Mattie not having dirtied his kit.
Chilly, looking every (1) inch resplendent in his tights was able to field a virtually new line up for the second half, Cam Austin revelled on the longer grass, Lucas Whittaker went storming down the wing and might have scored a “worldie” Cam Austin benefitted and made it 6. Charlie E, Cam A again, Josh’s second, and then Seth’s one for the season made it ten, Josh grabbed a hat-trick to complete the scoring and get the MOM award.
Next week back to league action and a tough match at home to RV Tigers, let’s hope all the boys approach the game knowing they’re gonna have to improve on today’s performance, our passing can be better! As can our consistency. This great score line doesn’t mean we can take anything for granted next week.
Well played all the lads.

LJFC Red v Mill Hill Red

Match Report, Sunday 23rd October 2011
LJFC Red 0-3 Mill Hill Red

If.
As the saying goes…if, possibly the biggest word in our vocabulary.
If we had played the way we did against Pro-Future. If we didn’t believe that one great performance makes us superstars. If we treat every game like a Cup-Final. If every player was always on form. If we took our chances…

MHR are a good side, a 100% win record this season proves it. Could we have won? If only, yes we could.
The first 15 minutes of the game were even in terms of possession but MHR created more chances, Lammack produced a couple of great moves that sliced open the MHR defence easily, from one low and hard cross both Chilly and Seth Elliott missed the opportunity, later a good strike by Seth was diverted over by Chilly. Moments later MH went ahead and never looked back. Slack concentration saw MH score 2 more in quick succession and ran out comfortable winners. Lammack were unable to test the keeper again. Thankfully to their credit the MH boys kept their focus despite being egged on to laugh by their linesman/coach. No need for it fella.

The Man of the Match Award was given to Usman Ditta who put in some fantastic tackles and interceptions.

Pro-Future v LJFC Red

Posted on 16/10/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report; Sunday 16th October
Pro-Future 0 – 2 LJFC Red

A deserved away victory at last season’s League Champs was “just the answer” after last weeks postponed game and the previous week’s disappointment in Barrowford. Despite more squad changes at Oakhill, P-F are still a force in this division. No-one from Lammack said it before the game but this was probably a season defining game for both teams, as it was Lammack turned in a stonkingly good performance to send a strong message to the rest of the League. An on-looking Langho manager later lavished praise on the passing and work-rate of the team.
So, to the interesting stuff, the game. Lammack started quickly and played some really good football on an atrocious pitch. The new defensive pairing of Usman Ditta and Nathan Jones looked like they’d played as a pair for years, within 5 minutes Lammack was 1 goal to the good and Nathan was looking like he was enjoying having the time and composure to enjoy and grin his way through the match. It was Josh Kennedy scoring his first for the season that saw Lammack take the lead, the move began down Lammack’s left side from Nath’s clearance, Owen Elwood’s low cross was partially cleared towards the corner of the penalty area, Josh’s instant one-touch skilled control teed it up onto his right peg and it was dispatched into the far top corner. In the Lammack goal Mattie Holden got dirtier warming up than in the first half, in midfield the combination of Josh’s skill and more aggressive tackling with the running power and passing vision of Seth Elliott, Chase-it Chilly’s fearless commitment saw Lammack totally dominate, their confidence was visibly growing. Unfortunately half time interrupted.
The second half was a bit more even, I can only imagine P-F were read the old riot act, on the few occasions that P-F had opportunity to shoot they were wide or over the bar, when on target Mattie Holden was majestic in the Lammack goal and just seems to love the mud-bath. Lammack played on the counter-attack, clever passed clearances to either flank, swift passes and movement regularly opened up P-F. Chilly, one on one went flat out in the box, P-F tried to wind him up and get a bit shirty…big mistake, Chilly got his 5th goal of the season thanks to yet another deadly Lammack move, through again one on one he drilled the ball low and hard into the bottom right corner, the perfect way to answer the wind up merchants!
In traditional post-match interview (no BBC allowed) Chilly paid tribute to the performance, and explained that the significance and timing of this game, combined with the second half improvement from P-F as the reason why some boys didn’t get any action and others just a few minutes. I understand (been there, it’s hard) the disappointment of the boys and parents, I also understand the management team’s approach to each game on a individual match basis. We have a wonderful team of lads that are growing up quickly, perhaps part of the football learning curve steepened a degree or 2 today. As a team we’ll move on together, train hard, play harder, and get results.
Lastly, nearly forgot; Man of the Match; “Chase-it Chilly! And (from Chilly) a big thumbs up to Seth and Mattie.

Barrowford Celtic V LJFC Red

Posted on 02/10/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report; Sunday 2nd October 2011

Barrowford Celtic 3-0 Lammack Juniors Red

You could have predicted this! A week after a big 8 nil victory and some of the boys think they’re superstars, once again we are brought crashing back into reality. Barrowford are a decent side and have a couple of useful players. With about half of the Lammack side half asleep for most of the game this was always going to be a tough battle. There were 2 high spots in the first half for Lammack; we had been told Barrowford had a class centre forward, he was later found in Usman Ditta’s pocket, the other was the energy and passing of Seth Elliott (oh for a bit of consistency). Lammack’s only 2 shots came from Lucas Whittaker (on target) and Seth’s not! Barrowford took the lead 2 minutes before the break during a goalmouth scramble.
Barrowford doubled their advantage when their #7 muscled his way between 2 defenders and slammed the ball high into the net, throughout the match Lammack players were bouncing off this lad, we have to find an answer. It was 3-0 as a result of a pacy breakaway, Mattie saved well but the rebound was tucked away. As the game wore on it became a bit niggly, at least one or 2 of the boys were showing some passion and spirit! Lammack’s only decent move came via a 3 pass move from defence saw Charlie Elwood receive the ball wide left, beating the full back he crossed low to brother Owen whose diving header beat the keeper but went over the bar.
In the King Eddie after the game positional and tactical alterations were top of the agenda!!

Man of the Match was awarded to super-stopper Mattie Holden.

Blue Star v LJFC Red Cup R1

Posted on 25/09/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

Cup Match Report, Sunday 25th September 2011

Blue Star 0-8 LJFC Red

Lammack began their defence of the Trophy in style, like last year an away trip to unfamiliar opponents was pulled from the hat.
Lammack emphatically wore down the opposition from the start, solid defending by Lucas and Usman left stand-in goalie Nath Jones a virtual spectator, with a blessing of options in midfield Lammack rotated the players, each contributing to the total dominance of the game. It took 10 minutes before Blue Star conceded, Lammack ( Chilly) had several shots off target before Chilly cut in from the right and smashed the ball in off the underside of the bar, moments later Owen Elwood did the same from the left, Blue Star never recovered. Charlie Elwood then made sure that sibling rivalry continues to flourish and benefit the team by hammering home the third for a 3- 0 half time lead. It might have been more had Charlie’s cross cum shot not grazed the bar.
Lammack’s confidence grew, their passing moves were quick and dangerous regularly opening up the BS defence at will, the fourth came via Seth’s pacy run and cross from the right should have been buried by Cam Ward, the rebound fell to Charlie E who prodded home. The move for goal number 5 began in Lammack’s half, Seth won the tackle, advanced forward and timed the through ball to Chilly perfectly, Chilly “drew” the keeper, rounded him and tucked it into the corner. Number 6 came from midfield general Josh Kennedy, a right foot effort from 15 yards giving the keeper no chance. Lammack’s 7th was the Elwood boys’ 4th this time Owen with a trademark power shot from wide on the right wing into the far top corner. Lammack were clearly enjoying themselves they could and should have had more goals, in one flowing move Chilly was one on one with the keeper, again he left the bewildered netter prostrate on the deck and did a “Torres” much to the amusement of his Dad and teammates. Chilly responded as expected “Right! I’ll show ya, I’ll get another” was the word… who got the 8th? Torres!
Who got Man of the Match? Mr Sitter, aka Torres, aka Charles Chillingworth.

LJFC Red v Mill Hill White

Posted on 18/09/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

Match Report Sunday 18th September 2011

LJFC Red 1-3 Mill Hill White

In a pulsating first half both sides were going for it. Both sides are well organised and can play. Lammack’s passing game created a chance for Owen Elwood whose shot screamed over the bar, MHW are physically stronger than most teams at this level, they were restricted to long range efforts by the superbly organised Lammack defence. The two sides were slugging it out, it took a first half penalty to start the scoring; the decision to award the penalty? Well, we’ve seen ‘em given, we’ve seen ‘em not, my view… I’ll keep to myself, Mattie almost stopped the penno, hard luck on two counts.
The second half saw Lammack equalise with a well worked goal that began in right midfield, a defence splitting pass left Charlie Elwood in the clear, Charlie moved around the ball and unleashed a right footer into the bottom corner, giving the goalie no chance and his brother a shooting lesson. Most Lammack supporters probably expected their Cup Final heroes to go on and win the match, however MHW found extra mental strength, their Captain and the number 6 grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated, Lammack were unable to respond, too many Lammack lads went “missing.” MHW scored a second, a tap in from a yard following a right wing cross and a third into the roof of the net from distance.
Charlie Chillingworth’s effort and determination was a great example to his team-mates, and, by a mile deservedly got him the Man of the Match award.

Great Harwood Rovers v LJFC Red

U10 Red Match Report Sunday 11 September 2011
Great Harwood Rovers 1-4 LJFC Red
LJFC deservedly got their first 3 pointer of the season on unfamiliar territory. 10 minutes of tentative probing by both sides ended when Chilly gleefully netted from 2 yards out, the assist going to Nathan “blue rinse” Jones. Soon after GHR scored with a soft header from a rare corner (a pattern emerging here?). Lammack’s passing and attacking threat improved, Seth Elliott’s fresh legs and vision put Charlie Elwood in space near the edge of the box, one touch to set it up then slam into the top of the net for 1-2
In the second half Lammack continued to stroke the ball around and torment the GHR defence, with a bit more of a ruthless attitude the result could have been far more emphatic, having said that Lammack’s 3rd and 4th goals had a slice of fortune about them, Owen Elwood’s “cross” flew in the far corner from a narrow angle, his next “cross” deflected off a defender’s lunging foot into the same corner.
Man of the Match awarded to Seth Elliott on a second half count back after pipping the mad-dog black Labrador on goal assists.

LJFC Red v Rossendale Valley Wasps

Posted on 04/09/2011 by Graham Chillingworth

U10 Red Match Report, Sunday 4/9/2011

LJFC Red 1- 1 Rossendale Valley Wasps

A brief report…
RVW scored the season’s first goal, a corner from the left wasn’t attacked by any of Lammack’s static collective defence, the RVW attacker in “acres” stooped, his header was technically good but should never have; A) happened, & B) beaten Mattie who was left unsighted by his own defence.
Lammack equalised with a Nathan Jones’s header in the second half, same poor defending, and technically just as good as RVW’s.
Lammack had plenty of possession and passing but lacked the killer touch required to go on and get the victory.
A welcome message goes out to Cameron Ward who joins LJFC Reds, good luck Cam!
Man of the Match awarded to Chilly.
