Fillies v Bcsc
8-1-12
Ko 11.30
After a sat nav adventure our convoy arrived in pouring rain for this first fixture of 2012 and it was Blackburn with some early pressure in the first five minutes but the Fillies pushed us back to win two early corners that came to nothing as Blackburn coped well in defence with the reliable Ebony and Abi. Both teams were a bit rusty but managed to cancel each other out and though both teams had shots on target it was going to take something special to beat any of these keepers who coped easily with any shots on target and saw the first half out goalless 0-0.
Second half
It was much of the same in the second half as these were two strong teams, but it was the home side who broke the deadlock 5 mins into the second half after a free kick out on the left wing was lofted into the box and after a scramble Blackburn failed to clear and the ball was slammed into the roof of the net from close range, 1-0. After the kick off it was the visitors who started to play now and soon equalized when Meg threaded through to Jade who slammed goal ward from 15 yards and the keeper saved but couldn’t hold and fell to the waiting foot of Katie D to poke home to make it 1-1 and liven up the game, and it was Blackburn with their tails up now and started to play some decent football but the home side dug in and went 2-1 up soon after when Blackburn failed to clear their lines again and the ball was poked in from close range,. Blackburn were straight back on the attack now and should have equalized when Jade picked up the ball and slammed a cracker that the keeper just got her fingertips to and sent it onto the crossbar and up into the air that landed on the roof of the net to see the game out 2-1 to the home side.
Verdict
You could tell who had too much chocolate over Christmas , and it showed, but enough about our manager’s it was the girls who were slightly lacklustre but a few good performances from the likes of Meg , Lauren and our ever reliable keeper kept the score line respectable, Blackburn created more chances in front of goal but struggled to convert, but the home side were good for their victory well done !

After all thinking this game would be called off due to pouring rain we got the call to say it was on and after awful driving conditions we arrived just as the rain stopped, Game on!!! The first ten minutes saw each team cancel the other out in this tough fixture, but it was the visitors with the first goal on 16 mins when Megan picked up the ball in midfield and went out wide right and squared it to Maisy on the edge of the box and threaded a lovely ball through to Jade 10 yards out who slammed home to go 1-0 up to the visitors. Blackburn held on and Katie Dudge had a good effort saved on 20 mins, but it was the home side who attacked now and it was the tall Leah who stormed down the right wing and after rounding one player swept into the box unchallenged and slammed the ball home to make it 1-1 and went close again on 29 mins however Katie Maher made an excellent save to see the first half out 1-1.
Second half
This half started the same with end to end stuff, but it was Blackburn to take the lead again on 33 mins when Katie D collected a ball and held it up until an excellent lay off to Becky 25 yards out who unleashed a thumper over the keeper to go 2-1 up to the visitors. The home side were having none of this and levelled again on 35 mins with a close range shot to give the keeper no chance 2-2. It was Preston to attack again now and it was the visiting keeper to make a top save on 38 mins, but it was up the other end again now and when Meg picked up the ball midfield and ran out wide right and put a superb cross in and it was Super Ellie to ram the ball home from close range to make it 3-2 to the visitors in this pulsating fixture. It was Blackburn again to go 4-2 up soon after when Meg put a ball through to Jade in the box who shot goal ward and the keeper made a superb save only to spill and after the defenders run in to clear it the ball bounced off a Preston player to go back into their own net 4-2. It was all Blackburn now and when Maisy picked up the ball in midfield she rounded one and saw her 25 yard effort come back off the post with ten minutes to go. Blackburn pushed again now and won two corners in the last 5 mins, but Preston weren’t done yet and a sortie into the box was dealt with and Olivia passed out to Meg who stormed down the right wing and passed inside to Katie D who played a ball out left to Jade who then passed back to Katie in a lovely one two who slammed home from 15 yards to go 5-2 up to the visitors and saw the game out victorious to Blackburn, well done both teams.
Verdict
This was always going to be a cracker of a game and wasn’t it just with both team’s going for it with end to end stuff with both keeper’s with some outstanding saves, Preston’s keeper being slightly more busy of the two with some excellent saves to keep the score line down . I cannot pick a man o match because all the girls put in an excellent shift and worked as team, well done and keep it up girls.

BCSC 2 BURNLEY O
This match was switched late in the morning due to Blackburn s pitch being water logged and Burnley let us play at Townley park for this fixture, and in strong wind and rain the game got under way with the visitors getting good possession but struggling to break a strong Burnley side but it was the home keeper with some early saves, though nothing to trouble this on form keeper. It took 16 mins for the first goal and it was the visitors who took the lead when Burnley won a free kick in their own 18 yard box that only went as far as Maisy Moo and passed back to Katie Dudge on the edge of the box and with her first touch left her marker and shot hard and low with her left foot to go 1-0 up. This was a good game with both teams threatening but seeing the first half end with the one goal.
SECOND HALF
The second half started much the same with Blackburn with most of the possession but Burnley stood strong and defended well but it was the hard working Ellie Brindle who gave the visitors some breathing space on 35 mins when a cross into the box from Megan so the keeper clear only as far as Ellie who shot from close range to make it 2-0 to the visitors and another pound in the bank off granddad. Burnley were always pushing and had some efforts on goal, but for the excellent work from Olivia and Ebony at the back to defuse any attack and make the Blackburn keepers job a lot easier, but Blackburn held on to see the game out and take all the points.
Verdict
These were awful conditions and both teams played well, Burnley are big and strong but Blackburn passed the ball a little better, and deserved the win but credit to the home side who defended well and probably deserved a goal, but Blackburn held to beat a tenacious side, well done.

SUN 20TH NOV

First half
On a cold foggy day in Wigan it was a lively start with the home side having all the possession and giving the visiting keeper the feel of the ball 3 times in 3 minutes. However it was nothing to trouble the Blackburn keeper, but it was the visitors first on the score sheet when Blackburn won a throw in deep in their own half and when Jade picked up the ball and fed up to Ellie who stormed through to slot home to go 1-0 up on 6 mins. And it was Ellie again having a shot saved on 17 mins but the ball was up the other end now and it was Abi to force the attack out wide and made Wigan shoot wide of the upright on 18 mins, the visitors were getting a firm grip now and when Katie Dudge picked up the ball 20 yards out she lofted the ball high and goal ward it dropped just behind the keeper and bounced up and onto the underside of the bar and somehow came out, and when Becky also had a good shot saved it was Blackburn in control, but Wigan dug in and had a shot wide of the post on 29 mins to see the first half end 1-0 to the visitors.
Second half
Blackburn were straight on the attack early in the second half kicking slightly down hill and when Ebony ran through midfield and passed to Lauren out left she turned and set up Megan who fired just wide of the post to keep the home stopper very busy, and when the ball was only cleared as far as Maisy Moo she lobbed the ball over to Jade in the 18 yard box and turned the defender with her first touch and with only the keeper to beat slammed home from 8 yards to go 2-0 up to Blackburn on 33 mins. The visitors were playing well now with some excellent passing now and Lauren had a shot saved on 35 mins, but when Blackburn won a free kick two minutes later it was Katie Dudge to slam the ball goal wards but was cleared off the line but only as far as the hungry Ellie who nocked home from close range to go 3-0 up to the visitors and when Ellie got the ball two minutes later she was on fire to run riot and pass to Lauren in the box who slotted to make it 4-0. Everybody wanted to get on the score sheet now there was some ambitious efforts from the visitors but it was the ice cool Becky who put the game to bed on 58 mins with a cracker to make it 5-0 to Blackburn full time.
Verdict
This was a game played in good spirits and the home side never gave up and made the game a lot more difficult than the score line would suggest for Blackburn, The visiting girls all played superb today and were all looking out for each other with every girl playing their part to make this a team effort, and making their managers and parents alike all proud, well done

BCSC V DYNAMO
12-11-11 KO 1.00
This was a slow starter on a sunny afternoon in Blackburn and it was the home side with the first shot on target when Jade’s shot on 9 mins was saved but it was the hard working Ellie on the right wing who got the scoring underway a minute later when she picked up the ball just in the box took it wide and shot back across to opposite corner to make it 1-0 to the home side. Blackburn were dominating from the centre now and Maisy and Ellie had shots saved before Beccy made it 2-0 on 20 mins with a thumper from twenty yards, Dynamo were getting stronger and had shot saved just before the half time whistle.
Second half
Dynamo had some early possession in the second half and had the home side penned in for a short time but the defence coped well and it was soon back in the visitors half for the keeper to save and when Dynamo picked up the ball it was a long range effort just wide of the Blackburn post, but it was the home side to attack now and when a rebounded shot only went as far as Demi , she thumped the ball goal wards to make it 3-0 on 40 mins, and a penalty soon followed after a hand ball by the visitors and it was Katie Dudge to put the ball away to make it a very comfortable 4-0 and it was Katie again who a minute later picked up a poor goal kick and slotted to make it 5-0 to the home side full time.
Verdict
Dynamo came with smiles on their faces and left with the same smiles, which is nice to see and made the referees job an easy one, And Blackburn took a long time today to get into their usual stride with Dynamo defending in numbers, and a good rotation of the squad so everybody get a good run out, well done girls.

BCSC v BLACKPOOL
CUP MATCH
6th Nov, 2011 Blackburn: 0 Blackpool: 2
First half
In glorious sunshine the home fans turned up in numbers, but it was the visitors with early possession putting Blackburn on the back foot, but coped well and the home side soon got the ball up field and won a free kick which was dispatched over the bar from 30 yards and another free kick 2 mins later which also went just over. Blackpool were soon on the attack now and it was the home stopper called upon on 9mins with a good save and an even better one two mins later to the cheer of the home fans, but the home side were on the attack now and Ellie hit the side netting on 14 mins, but this was end to end stuff and when B pool won a free kick it was Katie Maher with an excellent save to keep this game alive as the visitors were starting to boss midfield, but saw the first half end goalless.
Second half
It was B pool on the attack early in the second half and the home keeper deflected a shot around the post on 35 mins being far too busy for her liking but putting in a star performance, and as B pool attacked again and I mean attacked ‘it was Maisy Moo who had to be subbed due to a crunching tackle with stud marks to prove it. The visitors tenacity paid off moments later with brilliant lone run to slice open the Blackburn defence and slot home to make it 1-0 to B pool. That goal seemed to take the wind out of Blackburn’s sails and though the home side had chances they failed to convert and Blackpool put the game beyond B burn when they won a free kick 30 yards out and was dispatched superbly into the top corner to see the game out 2-0 to the visitors,
VERDICT
Blackpool are an excellent outfit with strength throughout the squad but Blackburn were never out of this game and for the excellent work of our Keeper and the home defence it could have been a lot worse and Blackpool were good for their two goal win.

BCSC 2 CROSBY 1
In stunning sunshine the game got under way with these teams having never met before and it was Blackburn first out of the blocks with Becky, Ellie and Olivia with some great link up play through midfield with Olivia getting up field early on to get some good crosses into the box to keep the visitors on the back foot. It was the visiting keeper the busiest of the two with some early saves but Blackburn pushed, and this paid off on ten mins when Katie Dudge chased a ball down to the left corner flag and won a throw in from what seemed a lost cause; which was thrown to Becky who cracked a cross come shot who cares’ that fell from the sky into the top right corner to make it 1-0 to the home side on 10 mins, and Blackburn went close again soon after when Olivia put cross to the back post for Jade to head wide, but on 12mins Ellie made it 2-0 when a cross fell to her feet and as her first effort was saved, her second attempt was slammed home to give the home side a comfortable lead, and when Jade’s shot was saved soon after it was the home keeper called upon on 17 mins to make a comfortable save, and when a good ball saw a Crosby girl through on goal it was Olivia Wilson stormed back to make an excellent tackle to clear in the final third to the applause of the home fans, until the ref saw different and pointed to the spot, though know body claimed for, and was slotted home the spot and as Katie Maher went the right way it swept past her fingertips to make it 2-1 on 20 mins, and with the visitors getting stronger Blackburn dug in and after Maisy Moo put a ball into the danger area it was shot from close range and was saved and only cleared up to Maisy again who put the ball back into the box only for Brie to shoot and be saved again and was somehow cleared to see the first half out 2-1 to the home side.
SECOND HALF
Crosby had their tails up early on in this half and soon had a shot on target but for the home stopper to collect comfortably , the game was getting tough now with the visitors going in hard and Blackburn had to give as good as they got , but there were tackle’s and tear’s from both teams as this cracking match gained pace, and when Maisy won a free kick on 35 yards it was Jade to fire a stunner only to come off the crossbar, and when the ball was kicked up the other end it was Ebony with a brave header to keep us in the game with Crosby pushing hard and it was the home side who dug in deep to grind out a win and with Abi and Olivia in control at the back it was an excellent win with all the girl’s pulling together to make it a well-earned home victory and though mistakes were made Crosby did not convert their chances, well done Blackburn.
Verdict
This was a cracking match with end to end stuff, tough tackling and some ‘how did that not go in’ moments at both ends. The home side, however, fully deserved this victory, and all the girls pulled together with smiles on their faces. Though there were complaints to the ref from the visitors, I would swap a goal kick and a throw in for that penalty any day, and with players on holiday Blackburn held strong, top match all the girls’ well done.

After a late kick off at midday it was the visitors with the first attack on goal when Beccy picked up the ball in midfield, threaded through to Maisy who then set up Olivia from 12 yards out who blasted over the bar, the ball was soon up the other end now and TMS won a corner but was cleared up to Megan who took the ball 50 yards and passed to Maisy who shot wide. The goal kick went as far as Olivia who came straight back up field and passed to Ellie who rounded two and threaded a ball to Jade 8 yards out to slot home to make it 1-0 to Blackburn on 4 mins. It was one way traffic now and Ellie soon made it 2-0 when Meg set her up out wide left and slammed the ball from a narrow angle into the roof of the net on 5 mins. Blackburn were bossing this game now from midfield with nothing passing the outstanding Beccy who collected the ball again and set Maisy up for a shot, but was saved by the home stopper, but Beccy’s work soon paid off on 7 mins when she thumped the ball from 20 yards to make it a very comfortable 3-0 which Jade helped home from close range and after Maisy Jade Brie Megan and Ellie all had shots saved by this very busy keeper it was Megan who made it 4-0 after a throw in to Ellie who set up Meg to end the first half 4 up to the visitors.
Second half
Blackburn were first out of the blocks again but it was TMS on the attack soon after but was easily swept up by the excellent back 3 of Ebony Abi and Olivia dealing with anything thrown at them and the ball was soon up the other end now and after Megan crossed a superb ball into the box it was the smiling assassin Jade to knock the ball home from close range to make it 5-0 on 34 mins, and when Beccy put in a superb cross soon after it was Ellie to head the ball just over the crossbar and Beccy made it 6-0 to Blackburn on 38 mins and Meg made it 7-0 after a lone run from a midfield, and it was Megan again who set up Maisy Moo who had a shot saved but received the ball moments later and was determined to get on the score sheet and that she did with a curling effort into the top corner from 25 yards to make it 8-0 to the visitors with only 5mins remaining it was TMS on the attack and a thumping shot only ended up in the safe arms of the Blackburn stopper and it was Katie in goal called upon again when a long ball beat the Blackburn defence and it was Katie to run out of her imaginary 18 yard box to clear with her feet to see the game out with well deserved clean sheet. Full time BCSC 8 TMS 0.
VERDICT
Blackburn were outstanding today and were obviously very difficult to break down and though TMS had some chances the Blackburn defence held strong to give the keeper a well earned rest, and it would be difficult to pick a man o the match because all the girls were outstanding, keep it up girls and well done. And it was the good work from the TMS keeper to keep the score line in single figures with some outstanding saves, the ref also having an excellent game with encouragement to all the players.

BURSCOUGH 1 BLACKBURN 3
K O 10 am
It was a feeling of de ja vu as it only seemed a week ago since these teams last met, and it was a slow start with Blackburn short of a couple of girls but it was the visitors who got things going when Katie Dudge hit the side netting from twenty yards out on 6 mins it was Katie again on 12 mins somehow putting the ball over the bar from 5 yards after some great work out on the right from Jade. After some long kicks from the Blackburn keeper it was Jade who thumped a shot goal bound only to be denied by the home stopper but Katie D was there to fire again from close range only for the keeper to save once more. The ball was straight up the other end now and it was Katie Maher to save from an excellent shot on 13 mins and was soon called upon again 2 minutes later when the home side fired a thunderbolt which Katie Maher got just a fingertip to it to see it rebound off the post to deny the home side, it was Blackburn to attack now and when Megan threaded to Beccy and up to Jade it was the home keeper to save again, and when a goal kick only landed at the feet of Maisy moo she shot straight back to the keeper that just went wide of the post, but it was Jade who opened the scoring when some great link up play from midfield saw Jade receive the ball out wide right and shot hard and low to make it 1-0 to the visitors on 20 minutes and held on with some great defending from Olivia Wilson, I don’t know how much spending money this girl gets but it should be doubled because of the tireless work and commitment she puts in and the way she control’s her defence with an iron rod and saw the first half out one goal up.
SECOND HALF
It was the visiting keeper called upon early in the second half with another pile driver fortunate enough to be straight at the keeper to keep her hands warm on 34 mins, and the ball was soon up the other end after a ball through from Ebony from the back to Meg to Katie to Jade only to shoot wide, and after a long goal kick it was straight back at em’ when Katie Dudge shot a thumper from 30 yards only for the keeper to save but not hold and when Jade picked up the loose ball and rounded the keeper thumped the ball against the post on 45 mins and the home side put the ball out for a Blackburn corner and when Olivia put a textbook cross into the box it was Maisy Moo to hit with a right foot shot only to hit the post once more and Burscough cleared the ball up field but only as far as the ever excellent Megan and sent a ball out to Lauren on the right wing and after beating two girls thumped the ball from 20 yards into the top corner to make it 2-0 to the visitors. Blackburn were playing good football now and it was Maisy with another shot goalbound soon after the start but the giggling goalkeeper saved and spilled again only for Jade to pick up the ball again and shoot wide. After another long goal kick the ball somehow then bounced all the way through the Blackburn defence and the ball was thumped home from close range to make it 2-1 Blackburn and game on with only ten minutes on the clock and Burscough now had their tails up but Blackburn defended well with Ebony and Olivia I don’t know how she does it Wilson and Maisy moo all working as a unit to keep us ahead, but the home side pushed and it was the ever reliable Katie Maher with another top drawer save to keep our lead with 5mins left and when Beccy won the ball in midfield threaded through to Jade and held the ball up in the left hand corner and somehow wriggled through the defence and shot hard and low to make it 3-1 to the visitors full time.
VERDICT
The score line would suggest a comfortable win but at 2-1 it was some squeaky bum time for Blackburn, but for the excellent work from the back and all the girls pulling together made this a good win, and tireless work throughout the squad, I don’t know how many Megan’s there were out there today but there seemed to be one in every position and the silent hero Brie working tirelessly on the wings, but it was Jade with a star performance to earn man o the match working well up front with Katie Dudge, and what about Olivia bossing the back four and smiling through out this tense encounter, well done all the girls.

First half
This was a slow start with both teams cancelling out any attempts on goal, and with two stand in keepers on the day, it was the visitors with the first shots on goal with Bree shooting wide on 5 mins then again on 7 minutes after some great footwork from Katie D to put the ball through and Katie also shot wide of the post and Ellie hitting the side netting all in the first 12 minutes. But It was Katie Dudge broke the deadlock on 16 mins to go one up to the visitors with a superb free kick that made its way through the defence to go in on the back post 0-1, and Ellie made it two on 18 mins with some excellent work in midfield with Meg and Beccy taking control and when a free kick came to nothing from Blackburn it was Bree to get on the scoresheet with an excellent half volley after a touchline cross from the right wing from Katie D cross to hit the roof of the net, the home side had some chances but nothing to put the Blackburn keeper under much pressure who handled every thing in her stride first half 0-3
Second half
Blackburn were straight back on the attack early on with Ellie,s shot on 31 mins saved by the home keeper who coped very well on the day, but it was all out attack now and Demi made it 4-0 to the visitors, but it was Burscough on the attack now and they went close with a shot just wide of the post and when Blackburn thought the ball was out of danger the home side thought different and from just short of the halfway line the ball was hit back toward the Blackburn keeper who saw the ball drop into the back of the net catching the keeper just off her line top goal - 1-4. Blackburn were not put off though and when Katie Dudge received the ball 10 yards from goal there was only going to be one outcome and made it 5-1 to Blackburn, and two minutes later 6-1 with another KD special. Burscough scored soon after to make it 6-2 with another long ball from 30 yards over the keeper which was just as good as the first, but Ellie made it 7-1 to the visitors and Demi rounded things off with her second of the day to see the game end 8-2 to the visitors final score.
Verdict
The score line was slightly flattering, and Burscough had their chances but Jade in the Blackburn goal was excellent throughout this game with excellent distribution and communication with her defence and the whole squad to have a very comfortable game. Also the girls in defence did superb with the threats on goal, but it was Ellie who run the show creating havoc for the home side and earned her man of the match award for her efforts, And how good were the super subs Demi coming on to score 2 goals and Ebony getting stuck in to give the home side no chance of getting back into this game, well done and same again next week.

Blackpool v BCSC – KO 10.30
Score 1 - 0
After leaving the rain behind in Blackburn, it was a lovely warm day by the seaside and the visitors were hoping the tide had finally turned, but it was business as usual as the sea siders were straight on the attack with two early crosses into the box, but nothing to trouble the Blackburn keeper.
The home side was still on the attack winning a corner on 14 mins and putting two shots wide of the post, and Ellie did a brilliant chest back to the keeper when the visitors were up against it and Blackpool hit the crossbar just before half time, first half 0-0.
Second half
Blackburn were getting much more of the ball in this half and an early shot at goal from Maisy moo was easily collected by the home stopper, Blackburn did have their chances but struggled in the final third, and the visitors were soon up against it when Blackpool were back on the offence winning two corners, and some keystone cops defending from Blackburn managed to keep the game alive. Blackburn were unlocking the home side,s defence now with Ellie causing endless problems on the wings and getting crosses into the box but there were tired legs out there and the home keeper were equal to everything and when Blackpool won another corner it was not cleared, and a goalmouth scramble saw the ball trickle over the line to make it 1-0 to the home side with 10 minutes left. Blackpool could not rest for a minute and it when Katie Dudge won a free kick outside the box it was thumped into the danger zone only to be cleared and the home side held on to a 1-0 victory to take all three points. Final score 1-0.
Verdict
Blackburn need to believe that they can beat anybody, because nobody wants to play this strong side, Blackpool are a strong outfit and we knew that before kick off, and used all of their pitch and some of the car park too when the ref turned up without any flags so no linesmen were provided and it was only when the ball reached the main road that the ref realised the the ball had gone out of play, but Blackburn can take a lot from this game, making it very difficult for Blackbool and some top saves from the keeper, some superb defending from Abi and Olivia, and Ellie running her socks off to made this a great match well done and ; Get stuck in.

Another match another monsoon and after a late kick off due to otters on the pitch, it was the home side with the early chances kicking toward the shallow end, and when some good work through midfield were not converted, it was City who were on the attack, but for Katie Maher in goal denying the visitors an early lead. Blackburn were slow to get started after a tough midweek fixture but it was the home side to break the deadlock on 15 mins when Brie got the ball on the edge of the box and shot only for the keeper to save but spill and the ball was knocked in from close range from Katie Dudge 1-0.
It was city on the attack once more now and got through our defence to easily at times but for the home stopper with some top drawer saves, but City s work paid off on 25 mins with an equaliser from ten yard leaving the keeper wrong footed 1-1 and the visitors scored again on 27 and 29 mins to go 3-1 up at half time.
Second half
This was another physical game and Blackburn gave as good as they got and were soon dominating after a wakeup call, and when city failed to clear their lines it was super sub Jade to knock the ball home from ten yards to make it 2-3 and game on.
The visitors were up against it now as the home side were in groove but just could not convert some excellent chances in worsening conditions as the ball were sticking to the floor, and late shots from Maisy, Megan, Katy Dudge and Jade were all saved to leave the visitors victorious to win the game, final score 2-3.
Verdict
This was a cracking game played in awful conditions and both teams were excellent, there were no spectacular goals today, it just wasn’t possible with an inch of water on the pitch, and I would have loved to see these two teams play in dry conditions, well done both teams.

Well I have to had to wait 24 hours to write this report while my heart rate calmed down.
Blackburn knew they were in for a tough game from previous encounters from this excellent oufit, but it was this home side straight from the kick off that were doing all the running with some brilliant work not giving the visitors time to take breath and could have gone one up after 5 mins when Jade shot wide and again on 6mins only to be denied from the keeper, the home side were well on top of their game and playing as a unit on this rainy evening that made the ball skip with pace, and I counted at least 8 shots on target from the home side with two to the visitors, but its about taking your chances and the Fillies did from a corner and headed home at the back post to make it 0-1 to the visitors against the run of play.
Second half
Blackburn girls were back in the groove and you could not take your eyes off this game for a second as it was serious end to end stuff with Blackburns keeper made to work hard, and taking a nock in the face didn’t stop her commitment to keep our hopes alive.
Blackburn were back in this game when Katy Dudge received the ball on the edge of the box and shot toward the bottom left and when the keeper got a fingertip to this the home fans thought it was another save but she could not stop it going in to make it a much deserved 1-1.
This was a very physical game and when Maisy Moo took a nock to the left ear it was Bree that was thrown in at the deep end took stop the visitors nicking this in the final 10mins and coped well with the onslaught, the Fillies nearly did nick it when a rocket hit the bottom of the post to put Blackburn straight back on the attack but only to come up against a keeper who had taken all of her vitamins this evening to ruin a perfectly good game with I can only describe as awesome, though it pains me to say kept her team in this match that could have been 4 or 5 1 to the home side.
Final score 1-1
This was the best I have seen Blackburn play with every girl playing out of their skin Ellie running riot down the wings, Moo reading everything in midfield, Megan in just about every position on the pitch, Beccy ruthless as usual and Katy Dudge chasing everything, Olivia and Abi doing the managers proud to name but a few but it was a team performance and the girl did us all proud with the subs doing brilliant when called upon well done everybody, same again next time.

St Helens v Bcsc
11-9-11
KO 1 pm
Finally a nice day for a game of football, and after a short sat nav adventure we turned up at the venue though slightly travel sick.
The game got underway but it was a slow start as these teams sized each other up, and it was Meg that got the game going with a superb cross from the left across the front of goal that just needed a touch and it was Demi who stuck a leg out but just failed to connect.
But Jade got things started with a goal on 9 minutes with a cracking shot into the top corner to make it 1-0 to the visitors and almost made it two minutes later with a miss from close range.
The ball was up the other end now and it was Katie Maher to make a good save to keep our lead and a good tackle from Bree in the danger zone to keep the home side out, and when Ellie got the ball from a good cross she made it 2-0.
Half time
Second half
It was much of the same in the second half as the visitors passing smoothly now and a bit of composure in the box could have put the visitors five up with Maisy, Becky Jade and Katy Dudge all shooting wide of the uprights.
But it was Jades tireless work that paid off when she made it 3-0 with a thumping shot from 10 yards. The visitors were never out of this game, but the Blackburn keeper was having none of it and denied the home side making an impact with some outstanding saves, with a superb one handed save to her right to keep the score in our favour but with five minutes to go Blackburn took their foot off the gas, and were punished with a goal from the home side just when you thought the keeper was going to get a much deserved clean sheet, final score 0-3.

Blackburn v Preston U13
7-9-11 6.30 Kick off
It was the most miserable evenings of this year with torrential rain from the start and the girls were soaked to the skin even before the kick-off.
Was this really the same team that had played Burnley just a few days earlier, because it was Preston that was first out of the blocks passing the ball all around this superb pitch to leave the home team chasing everything and just not getting a foot in!
It was Preston to score first on nine minutes after a comedy of errors with the ball going out of play and another ball (the wrong one coming back on) and Preston Lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box to give the visitors a much deserved lead, 1-0 Preston.
The home team were still second to everything as they struggled to clear their lines and some good saves from the keeper somehow kept us in this local derby, and Blackburn went level soon after when Megan shot from twenty yards only for the keeper to spill the ball and Jade tapped in from close range to make it 1-1 on 28 mins to keep us in this game
Second half
It was Preston again completely bossing this game from midfield and going 2-1 up on 35 mins after the home side struggled to clear the ball. Blackburn still hadn’t started to play like we all know they could and the visitors took advantage to go 3-1 up on 45 mins with a curling shot from 20 yards in the top right corner to leave the damp home fans even more miserable.
This was awake up call to the home side who suddenly found their feet and got these soaking kits up to body temperature because they started to pass the ball around sweetly to get the visitors back peddaling and get the home fans cheering, and it was Megan who once more got us back in this game with a thunderous shot against the bar from 25 yards that came down to the waiting boot of Jade once more to slot the ball home to make it 3-2 and keep this game alive on 50 mins.
This was now a cracking match that I did not want to end, but Preston nearly put the game beyond the home side but for some heroic defending and some brave goalkeeping to keep the game alive with 5 minutes left, it was all Blackburn now and some brilliant work from Ellie down the right kept the preston keeper busy with some good crosses into the danger zone and when the ball was cleared back to Meg in midfield she came storming back to the preston goal and just when the game was slipping from our grasp, Meg saw an unmarked Maisy moo on the left edge of the penalty box and slipped the ball through to moo who took a touch, and looking up saw the position of the keeper and shot a high ball toward the far corner and as the ball seemed to hang in the air for a lifetime it dropped into the back of the net from the gods to leave the home fans suddenly forgeting about this awful weather to make it 3-3 full time.
Verdict
This was a game played in awful conditions, the girls did us proud, even though they did leave it late,
I know I was still shivering late into the night, but there were some outstanding perfomances from the likes of Megan holding the team together in midfield Olivia at the back being far to busy, some brave goalkeeping, And some good shouting from the home keeper to keep up spirits when all seemed lost .And Maisy moo having an excellent game, the subs all doing well when I’m sure they would have rather stayed at home, well done just don’t leave it to the last ten minutes next time girls

Well on this slightly damp but warm day in Burnley the game got under way without either team stamping any authority, on this, the first game of the season. It was an 8 minute wait for the first attempt on goal when Ellie picked up the ball from a midfield pass that she took down the right wing and turned inside, only to shoot over from close range. Blackburn were starting to get a feel for this very heavy pitch now against a strong team and it was Jade with the next chance for the visitors when some good work through midfield saw her round the defence only for the keeper to make a good save. Two minutes later it was Jade again with a goal bound shot that the keeper saved once more. Katie Dudge then settled Blackburn’s nerves when she picked up the ball just into the Burnley half and two or three lone moves later, with only the keeper to beat, she calmly lifted the ball over and into the top right corner. 1-0 Blackburn on 10 mins.
Blackburn could have been comfortable when Megan stormed through midfield only to be brought down in the box for a penalty and decided to take it herself, and as parents held their breath, Megan (after reading Blackburn Rovers guide on how to take penalty’s) managed to shoot high and wide, still 1-0 . It was the home side now that could have gone level after some good work down the left and a shot so powerful, it almost dismantled the crossbar and came down onto the line for the keeper to clear but only as far as six yards. The ball was slammed goal bound once more and it was Maisy Moo with a brilliant clearance off the line that somehow got this ball out of danger and denied Burnley a much deserved equaliser. However, once again, Katie Dudge got this game back under control after turning two defenders and scoring her second goal with a shot into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 to the visitors. The home side had to have the last laugh just before half time when good work down the left saw Burnley pull a goal back with a superb curling shot from the left, 20 yards out and sail into the top corner. Half time 2-1 Blackburn, game on!
The second half and the visitors had two early corners and when the ball was cleared only as far as Meg, still thinking about the penalty miss, slammed the ball back toward a congested penalty box and into the back of the net past an un-sighted keeper. 3-1 Blackburn and Beccy nearly made it four only minutes later but was denied by this busy keeper.
Blackburn were playing well now, Demi passed the ball out from defence to Katie D in the Burnley half. She threaded the ball to Elle who shot low to make it 4-1 to the visitors.
Burnley just would not give up and took advantage when the visiting girls tried to take breath and made the Blackburn keeper make an excellent point blank save from close range. Tenacity paid off and with only 5 mins to go, they were rewarded by a powerful shot on goal from 12 yards, making it 4-2.
Blackburn now had to dig in and when Maisy Moo picked the ball up in midfield and breezed toward goal, she then passed the ball to Katie D for her hat-trick, with only the keeper to beat however the ball went wide. Two minutes later a long ball from a desperate home team saw Ebony, with a brilliant defensive header, saw the ball disappear over the trees and was last seen passing over Rawtenstall to see this game finish 4-2 to the visitors.
Verdict
Blackburn had the game under control after a shaky start, against a strong side that never gave up and despite the ball being lost in the long grass at times it was a comfortable win for the visitors. ALL the girls played excellent to make this a great team performance with some outstanding individual performances from the likes of Katy Dudge, Megan bossing midfield and Jade causing nightmares for Burnley in the penalty box. WELL DONE GIRLS!

PS: Did I mention the penalty?
